As the days went by, Lisa Ann found herself noticing her new neighbor, Alex, more and more. She'd see him mowing his lawn, or carrying groceries into his house. They'd exchange pleasantries, but nothing more.
"Me too," she replied, feeling a sense of wonder.
"Yes," she said finally. "I'd love to."
"Me too," he said. "Me too."
As they sipped their coffee, Lisa Ann and Alex talked about everything and nothing. They laughed, joked, and shared stories. Lisa Ann felt alive, like she'd been sleepwalking through life until now.
As they sat on Lisa Ann's couch, watching the sun set over the neighborhood, she turned to Alex and smiled.
Alex smiled back, taking her hand in his.
